Senses mixes ballads with rocky tunes, all written by Nic Tse, including the hits 'Viva', 'Senses' and probably the 2000 finest HK song 'Make No Sense' from the opening credit of the 2000 best feature Time and Tide. With such album Nic Tse throws his maturity to the face of all his critics and those who might still doubt of his singing skills. And he's damn right.

Here is the ideal album to start with the world of canto Pop. Faye Wong (or sometimes Wang) is a very special Canto Pop singer, and you probably know her from Wong Kar Wai's Chungking Express. She did a cover of the Dream Person from the Irish band The Cranberries. She is special because first she composed her own songs and second she has one of the greatest voices of HK. Her songs are however not strictly 'Canto Pop' type songs but have sometimes this 'occidental sound' feeling. It this respect, she is the HK singer to start with to avoid to be too disorientated in the Cantonese pop world. Finally, you may compare Faye Wong's voice with Elizabeth Fraser from the Cocteau Twins and Dolores O'Riordan from The Cranberries. They are in fact her most important inspirations. Can you tell by listening this album? Track not available anymore !

Andy Lau Tak-wah
In Concert Live 96

23 tracks, 2 VCD, 56'27 + 58'42,
1996. Produced by  Landow Lee, Joey Yeung, Ed. New Melody.

Track not available anymore !

This is a double VCD of Andy Lau greatest hits until 1996. It is a pleasant overview on Lau music career and a good starting point for who wants to discover one of the Four Kings of Canto Pop (others are Leon Lai, Jacky Cheung & Aaron Kwok). Full of surprises, special guests, interesting choreography and acrobatics, this concert is packed with great songs such as the theme song from Tsui Hark's Shanghai Grand, or Laura. If you want to discover the other face of actor Andy Lau, and his nice voice, this is a double for you.

This is one of Sammi's greatest albums. She became a real Canto Pop queen thanks to tracks such as the sample present here.
