This ultra-gory movie produced in 1991 by the Golden Harvest Film Company (which produced most of Jackie Chan features) is based on a Japanese comic book or 'manga' and is somewhere between Prison One Fire and Brain Dead!

Spit it out Sam!The story takes place in a futuristic prison where Rikki is sent after revenging on gangster-dealers who killed his girlfriend. Rikki, portrayed by unknown Chinese actor Fan Siu Wang, is in a prison where violence is very common. He is very powerful (his fists can burst a belly!) and he uses his super strength to defend his fellow prisoners and eliminate a nasty prison warden. He becomes the hero of the prison, and rebellion and gory fights don't take long to happen.

With such minimalist script, (actually you can easily guess that it's not the movie principal asset), the basic horror movie show you all the things that you can't imagine in your worst nightmares: beheadings, enucleations, gutting... I can tell you that aficionados will be really thrilled to death to watch Story Of Ricky.

Here's a treat for you fans of such thing… imagine a prison with loads of bad guys:

Story Of Ricky, don't be gutted!!!- a head falls on a plate of nails
- a wooden stick in the head
- Ricky guts literally a bad guy and takes    away his liver and other bowels
- a long long long nail is stuck in a hand
- some  fingers get twisted
- an head cut by a scythe
- a tasty example of enucleation
- the bad guys tries to strangle the hero   with his intestine!
- another head is burst by 2 hands!

I think that now you do contemplate what I meant by gore. Ricky Ho is the best example and the only one of such sick movie genre. Unfortunately, Story Of Ricky wasn't really successful and HK producers were not, therefore, very keen on investing for another of this kind (thanks God!).
However the psychokillers genre (i.e. Dr. Lamb, Bunman...) underwent its own little success the same year and generated a trend of non-sensical and ridiculous gory thrillers.
