During the Ming dynasty, Yuen Biao is a royal guard charged to capture a dangerous
criminal. The battle which opposes them will make them fall into ice. Three centuries
later, nowdays, the archaeologists give them again the life. Only a black jade Buddha and
a temporal wheel would be able to make them return in their time. The battle would start
again.
Starting like a good wu xia pian, shared in 2 parts (one in the Middle Ages, the other in the current modern world), Iceman Cometh go from serious to the comedy. The action directed by Yuen Tak is very good. The Yuen clan still struck.***

Tony Leung KF plays here the role of a General who does not want to betray his Government
to join the gangsters of the Liang Mountain. Binding friendship with a monk, which sharing
a common passion towards the martial arts, they would together avenge the death of the
woman of Leung.
Very good wu xia pian where the combat are very nervous (sometimes a little too) and enough originals. Never TKK appeared so good in this character of monk. One also note that one can see Lau Ching Wan in the role of a young student of Tony Leung KF. ***

Two schools of martial arts are linked to protect the country from the sect Ming. A young
cursed orphan whose curse prevent from fighting will try to save the unit of China thanks
to the assistance of a renegade monk of Shaolin which will teach the fabulous technique of
the Nine Yangs.
Even if sometimes the history is not very clear, the
combat directed by Samo Hung are always spectacular, Cheung Man is always also beautiful.
One could thus believe that it is a small masterpiece, but, Wong Jing is Wong Jin .... One
won't be astonished to meet there Richard Ng disguised in Batman-like, Samo Hung as a
Master resembling to the Father Christmas... When the result is seen, one is not surprised
to learn that a failure followed the release of the film and that the sequel was never
turned! From the same author, I prefer New Legend of Shaolin. **

Hu Fei is a young adventurer. Feng is an old sabror who uses his fantastic capacities in a
way to take power, to gain more money and more pretty girls. Hu loves Poison Sue and
Purple Yuen who is the girl (resulting from a rape) of Feng. She swears to kill her
father, but she becomes blind. Sue proposes her assistance to her. Hu Fei would fight
terrible Feng. Who would be the winner ?
It is not the masterpiece of the decade, but it's a quite good wu xia pian like those of the years 92-93. The sequel will never be released **
The
Sword stained with Royal Blood by

Yuan Song-wan, a courtier of the Ming dynasty would like that his son got the Sword of
Royal Blood. This sword belongs to Golden Snake which was the lover of the castle's
mistress who betrayed her husband by giving him a girl whose he wasn't the father. It's
almost a remake of Dallas
The history that is not easily comprehensible, go in all directions (but it is very funny to see Danny Lee in costumes in this wu xia pian which looks like a video game). Only the very good aerial combats and the actresses save this work from utter failure. **
